I really "baby" it with misting and fertilizing and still a year ago this month it had 3 spikes at the same time and had a total of 24 flowers! Attached is a picture from that blooming. Now all I have to do is encourage new roots along the bare stem so that I can eventually cut it shorter.
Very Beautiful Flowers!!! Yeah they werent that full when i got it on clearance with very little roots but hey its bounced back pretty well! that is why i was surprised when i saw how much they had changed with my brothers care even though hes never grown a plant in his life.

Im really liking this forum! I wish i had joined when i started growing orchids a few years back. and i should look into kelpmax as well now that ill be growing orchids again keep up posted with updates! we can all learn from your experience!!

Are there any videos on how to use kelpmax? i would like to see a video on that!! If there is one! for example how to mix it,how to use it on rootless orchids, how to use it after potting a new plant to encourage root growth, or just simply using it on a healthy plant in a fertlizer regiment.

There are general instructions on the label, but with every order, I also include a sheet with some background, as well as instructions specific to orchid growing:

We recommend the product be used in three different ways, depending upon your need, but always at
1 Tablespoon/gallon:

Plants with no roots
  • Using warm water, immerse the entire plant for an hour or two.
  • Without rinsing, pot it up, and water it in with that solution.
  • For the next two waterings, use the KelpMax solution.
Repotting plants with decent root systems
  • Pot them up and water them in with the KelpMax solution.
  • Repeat the next two waterings.
Existing, established plants (and those above, after the recommended treatments)
  • Add to irrigation water or fertilizer solution no more often than once per month.

So does this also apply to de-flasked orchids?
