Default Cattleya mini purple Eyes swelling up on side of pseudobulb

This was a cattleya seedling that I accidentally rotted all its roots off while on vacation. There were also two new growths that also died. Now I'm seeing some little green numbs on the side of the pseudobulb. Could these grow into new growths or am I just imagining things?
Sorry for the bad image quality, I couldn't find my camera.

It would be unusual but not impossible for normally dormant meristems at the nodes on the side of the pseudobulb to try to grow out, but this situation where a fairly strong plant has new growths or eyes damaged or rotted is exactly when it might happen. Time will tell.

Agreed. It is possible this will produce new growth. There is a dormant meristem at the base of every Cattleya leaf and bract. (Other genera, as well.)

The most important thing will be to keep any new roots alive and healthy. You will likely only get one chance to save the plant. When it starts pushing roots, don't pot it up. Keep it bare-root and as humid as you can. Pick it up and spray the roots with water daily as the roots elongate.

Mini Purple needs heavy watering when in growth, but also must have lots of air around the roots. It does best mounted, or in very large bark in a pot, watered daily when in growth. Putting it in fine bark in an attempt to extend the watering interval is risky.

Thanks for the quick responses. I guess I'll just wait and see. As a side note, there seems to be a new root growing. Apparently, it likes semi hydro a lot better than the fine bark it was in before.
