Dyna Pro-TeKt and Trihoderma, Bacillus...
Cool Dyna Pro-TeKt and Trihoderma, Bacillus...

Hi there,

As title says...does anyone has experience with using this Dyna product and also good bacterial and fungi.

I know place in my country where I can buy this and I really wish to know can I use Dyna Pro-TeKt (silicate) and Trihoderma also Bacillus together? (not all in pot together but with some separation from week or so)?

Thanks guys!

Happy growing!

I can see no issues, unless the probiotic mixture has a pH issue, as potassium silicate will raise it pretty effectively.

Ray great input!

If I put silicate separated I have still this problem? I grow bare root and s/h. And some Phalaenopsis species in bark/spagnum.

All my plants including Vandas are watered with RO and pH with added Rain mix is really good (around 6.2-6.5).

Ray how often you would suggest to apply this bacteria and fungy with bare root plants? Some suggest foliar spray, some suggest soak. Can I do foliar and soak?

I would use it on the roots only. Orchid leaves absorb almost nothing.

I agree. Foliage absorption is limited, but it varies with the type of orchid, or more correctly, the thickness of the cuticle layers on the leaves.

Add the stuff to your water monthly.

I will also suggest not bothering with the ProTekt, as it adds little.

Actually, some claim that Protekt makes plants more resistant in many ways, such as toleration of temperature extremes and
drought. I wouldn't be able to say if the claims are accurate, but can say my mounted phals tolerate (and show no set back) from me leaving done dry for a few days if I go on vacation.

I use it as a pH+ and it's very efficient. Ive been using it for about 1 year in every watering at very little doses, about 1/4 tea spoon just to bring my pH back up to 6.5 after adding my fertilizer... all my plants get it and they all seem fine. Only exception is my Dracula's that get RO water and no/very little fertilizer and do not need to have the pH increased. Just be careful not to mix it at the same time as the fertilizer as it will seperate. Add your fertilizer, mix everything up and then add the protekt.

I certainly won't argue that there are claims made about it, but in my experience, potassium silicate adds nothing.

Certainly it can raise the pH of solutions, but I have to question the necessity of doing so, and will point out that the accumulation of potassium in plants and potting media can lead to toxicity, and/or prevent the absorption of other nutrients.
