Thanks everyone, I am now treating for pests. Next watering will be a dunk in a bowl of insecticide. Sprayed it a week or so ago. trimmed off the nasty edges and have not seen any further damage. Watching, waiting, keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks, Barb
