Default losing orchids

I have just lost a bunch of orchids to heat stress..So mad at myself. . I left some of my orchids in a hot car. now I have a bunch of mush. I guess my question is , if they have no leaves, but still good roots will they grow again?

They might, but likely the roots also were heat stressed. Try placing them in a shaded location, water them and see what happens.

I have a Den. bigibbum which recovered from a bad sunburn and total defoliation, but it took a couple of years. How invested in these plants are you?

What kind? I suppose some genus might fare better than others.

Are there any pseudobulbs that are still firm and green? If so, keep an eye on the bases and you may see new shoots.

thank you all for the feedback. I do see some green on a few of them. My big lou Sneery. has only 3 leaves. It was a 5 fan plant. Well maybe I can get a new one of these as mine never had a smell. Just needed to cry on someones shoulder.

No, you don't need to cry. What you need is to try to recover those plants...and, during the process, cry if you want to.
It will be an educational experience. Imagine what you'd feel if they recover.

Cry away, there's lots of sympathy here! If there is green, there is hope.

Sorry to hear about what happened. I'm sure we've all made regrettable goofs. (In fact, I believe there was a recent thread about that very subject.) Fingers crossed that some will survive!
