I used a 1/2" pipe bender for electrical conduit to make the bends. It was originally a 10ft straight piece of 1/2" conduit. 10 bends later it is now only 54" wide with almost 1 1/2ft front to back travel from window. I've added a few more plants and no flexing to speak of yet.
