Throw them away and get new pots.

What kind of cheapies are we, anyway? Willing to shell out major bucks for a plant, but spring for a new pot? No Way!!!

I find that when I set pots aside for reuse, they stay set aside and I never get around to cleaning them and eventually crack a few, then trash 'em.

I was given some great advice from an orchid grower, he suggested that I soak my pots in tea. Really easy, I just make a strong batch of tea, put it in a 5 gallon bucket add water to fill the pots, and let soak. This also works well with deposits left on the leaves! Seems to work and doesn't leave anything harmful behind that might upset the plants.

Swimming pool algacide works well and kills most bacteria and even virus. soak overnight with about 1 tspn/gal of water then wipe with a cloth or brush.
