Ross: Thanks for the inquiry....but I'm a new GRANDPA.
Our first and he (Noah) is a cutie pie. Running a up and down the hwy (250 mi. each way) to get our hands on him. Thanks again.
I was given some great advice from an orchid grower, he suggested that I soak my pots in tea. Really easy, I just make a strong batch of tea, put it in a 5 gallon bucket add water to fill the pots, and let soak. This also works well with deposits left on the leaves! Seems to work and doesn't leave anything harmful behind that might upset the plants.
Did they say if tea would kill virus ? I don't see how it could , bleach maybe , I do know some virus it won't kill ,don't know about orchid virus tho . I get a nice clean new pot . Used pots remind me of used tooth brushes Gin
Swimming pool algacide works well and kills most bacteria and even virus. soak overnight with about 1 tspn/gal of water then wipe with a cloth or brush.
