Default Militonopsis still fragrant with no spikes

Hi all,

I'm just wondering why my Militonopsis still has a fragrance even thou the flower spikes are spent and cut off. It doesn't smell like rot , it smells like an intense rose?

I'm wondering why?

Thanks

miltoniopsis tend to have a lingering scent of their flowers even when not in flower. I don't know where it is coming from though.. the pseudobulbs maybe? I sensed that in my miltoniopsis plants as well.
