Try putting your vanda in a clay pot. They might stay too wet in glass, maybe? I put mine and my vanda/vandaceous orchids in clay pots. Here is a video how Brad's Greenhouse does it.

Just updating this page as I said I would. I contacted Jim of FSC orchids and he has been kind enough to offer me a brand new seedling for just the cost of shipping. I'm enthralled that he is offering this deal to me I get another chance

Of course being a seedling it won't look exactly like the one I had, but I'm excited nonetheless. He said some have come out blue, some pink, and some even orange. So, there's no telling what will happen.

Hey, wintergirl, the page formatting gets messed up when you just post a youtube link.
If you write [ y t ] /watchrjewiorjewofw [ / y t] without any of the spaces, and everything that comes after "/watch..." it includes the video without weirding out the format of the page. :3

That's so awesome!

I've had an orange rot just set in for no reason on my plants and I've lost them just like you lost yours. I thought it was my fault at first, but I am sure it's some kind of infection or disease. The kind my plants have succumbed to is just this wet soft spots on the plant, but the pseudobulbs turn orange and wither away, and the leaves all fall off. It's such a disappointment!

Good luck with your new little behbeh seedling!

Thanks Wintergirl. The method behind the glass is soaking it and then dumping all the water out, I guess I haven't dumped 100%. I'll also admit to sprinkling a little in here and there hoping it'll just put some humidity in the pot...anywho back to the OP...

That's so wonderful! I hope the new seedling is just as beautiful to you, whatever the color.

Does it have all it's fins? (Don't laugh....it happens)
Body shape ok?
Is the white good?
Is the red good?
Is the black good?

and last of all, the pattern OK.

Perhaps someone could come up with a similar list for orchids.

And don't forget to check if it has both eyes.
With jokes aside, I know what you mean. Koi can be expensive, so you want to make sure all is good.
Even when I buy a guppy, I make sure all is well. lol
Doesn't hurt and I think it is a good habit to do so.

When I buy plants, I do the same. I only buy if the plant looks perfectly clean and healthy, and nothing crawling around obviously.
This helps to get a nice healthy plant to start out with.

That is a great news although it takes time and it is not going to be the exact same flower you liked so much.

Then there's something to look forward to.
The excitement of growing out a seed propagated plant!

Good luck!

Oh no!! Sorry for your loss.. I always watch your videos on youtube! I also had problems with vanda seedling. They are not forgiving in my opinion. I lost a tesselata a while back. I didn't know what was wrong cause i kept it with my other vandas that grew well.. The only difference is it was a seedling.. It slowly declined and then died. It happened so fast.. You will come across another vanda that will appeal to you sooner or later
