Brassia repotting

I have a Brassia that is outgrowing my space. It is in a 10" terracotta pot and has grown about 9 inches over the rim on two sides. It is too heavy for me to lift easily and won't fit in my sink to water. I would like to repot it. Should I put it in an even bigger plastic pot or should I separate it into two plants? I am not sure how to separate it. (I killed the last one I divided.)
I have attached a year old picture...it is bigger now.

For me, I would go one more year into a larger pot. I personally use waterlily baskets as pots when they get that big as the baskets are lighter and easier to manage and also allow more air to the roots. Do a search on waterlily baskets and I am sure you'll come up with tons of possibles such as PONDLIFE PLANT BASKETS

Thanks Ross for the idea of using waterlily baskets. Never thought of that. It's a good one. Depends on how much room you have but I would probablly repot.

Hi Marti,

I'd repot also - but I would wait til the bloom period was over & the new growth had roots. I'd half it down right threw the middle - it's gonna take some time find that one Marti

I'd also use plastic, very lite pots much easier to deal with. I tend to favor clay pots - sorta like the look of them more, but as weight does become an issue ... it's time to make some changes.
