Stink bugs - Orchid Board

Stink bugs are munching on my Phalaenopsis. What can I do? Never had this problem.

Umm, being as they're quite large bugs, smash them ?

You shouldn't squish them. They have a horrible odor.

Lol, well I'd hate to spray...and the sacrifices you must make for your orchids.
I'd only spray if they were a plague and there were hundreds.

you can suck em up in the vacuum cleaner then dump it real fast before they start to smell...

or knock them off into a cup of water with a tsp of dish soap in it. they will drown in 30 or so seconds and not stink.

they have been dormant all winter and now they are coming out to eat your orchids bec there isnt anything else to eat. I dont think orchids would have been their 1st choice if you had something else for them to chew on. They prefer fruits and berries.

Grab them gently with toilet paper and FLUSH THE SUCKERS!!!

Stink bugs don't seem to cause problems to the orchids though they do munch on some of the other plants. I usually just convince them to crawl onto paper and put them outside.

Brown marmorated stink bugs arrived in Pennsylvania in 1996 from Asia, they are an invasive species and are now in 37 states.

They are a plague on raspberry crops in Canada. They eat everything, they even bite people.

NOOOOO!!! I did not need to know that they bite! So icky!!

Pictures of Brown Marmoted Stinkbugs were plastered all over the Auckland airport in New Zealand like wanted signs, and you wouldn't be allowed into the country until they got rid of all the ones in your belongings.

I was cleaning my friend's house one time, and I opened the window to clean the track, and there were 10 of them... just sitting there and moving slowly. Oh it grosses me out!!!
