growth on phal neither spike or leaf
Please identify the recent small growth on a phal which is neither flower spike nor leaf. See attached photo. Thanks.

You've eliminated 2 out of 4 possibilities. You can eliminate root, as well. You have a keiki (baby).

Thank you. I am familiar with keikes on dendrobiums, but didn't know they sometimes are created on other types. I will research what to do with this. Richard

Best not to try removing this type of keiki. Just let it grow along with the parent
