I gotta explain something about Brassavola nodosa. In the wild, this orchid is very, very adaptive. It has been known to be an epiphyte growing on trees, and it has been recorded to be a lithophyte growing on rocks. This is why you are getting a lot of varied answers. If you understand this, then this will all make tons of sense.

Mine hate LECA. Roots just won't grow into it. I have no idea because I have other plants that do great in LECA.

They do great in bark or moss for me.
