Strange leaf & pbulb discoloration on Dgmra Female
Exclamation Strange leaf & pbulb discoloration on Dgmra

Maybe a week ago, or not quite, I noticed this sort of orange-brown, rusty but partially translucent damage occurring vertically on the main pbulb leaf of my Dgmra. Hani 'Star of Unicorn'. This pbulb is currently in spike, about to be in bud. At first it was just on the leaf but within a couple of days the damage (?) seemed to seep into the pbulb and now appears inside of it though there is no external damage to the pbulb. The rest of the plant seems unaffected...well looking at it again, the upper edge of the 2nd pbulb (before the current one) is slightly orangish.

Does anyone know what this is or have an idea? I'm about to Neem everybody. Any experience you might have with this sort of thing is greatly appreciated. My spelling might be off but Dgmra. is Degarmoara. It's a cross of Miltassia Charles M. Fitch x Odontoglossum hallii.

Thanks.

I've seen similar things on mine as well. I just spray it with cleary's and it seems to stop it.

Missanna, I wish I had seen this back then! Thanks anyways. Since it wound up spreading and taking over the two newest pbulbs and I didn't know what it was I went ahead and cut them off, keeping two older unaffected pbulbs. I did treat this division with Physan after I divided it and it's in medium bark.

This division lost its leaves and the pbulbs are VERY shriveled however it has a new growth that is very slowly coming along.

While things seem to be going okay I still welcome any advice!

Thanks!

It looks stabilized, nice job brining it to that point where you have new growth.
