If family and pets are taken care of, I'd have to say I'd save my quilts before my plants. Sorry guys.

How's THAT for a visual?

Why be sorry? My MIL is a quilter and I see firsthand how much love and hard work is put into each of her creations! I don't blame you at all

I think I could probably tuck my Dtps. Kenneth Schubert 'Purple Martin' and my Aer. rhodostica in the folds of one of my big quilts.

Hmmm I've got it!!

Since i'll be wearing clothes (hopefully) I'll hang about four from my shirt about 5 on the waist of my jeans. 4 along each arm and my huge caribbean sunset cymbidium between my palms The dog can also carry about 2 and my hubby can get the rest

Adrenaline is a heck of a drug, go team!!

The only Orchid I would be tempted to take with me is my Angraecum didieri.
Because it is stick mounted and requires no special attention. I would need only to water it and keep it relatively warm, and uncrushed (hard to do if you try to keep it warm in the winter without a place to call home). But I would most likely not take any plants with me unless I knew I was going to end up somewhere safe.

Hi All, I didn't mean to stress everyone out. What I was hoping to hear was a choice of two absolute favorites. All you folks will hurt yourselves trying to lift everything out. There will be a hernia epidemic.
In my scenerio, absolutely everything else would be well taken care of.....people, pets, quilts, computers, photos, etc are all safe. Two orchid choices only.
For me, I think I would take one type of Cattleyea and one Phalaenopsis.
The Cattleyea would be for fragrance as well as beauty and it would be my more established one. It would have to be my Pot. Hawaiian Charisma 'Hawaii.' The other would be my P. Mount Lip because that one is gorgeous and her blooms last the longest of all I have. After all, they are for our enjoyment. Besides, these are both easy to grow for me. Remember, you can't get any more for two years. (this is my scenerio so you have to play by my rules )
This is really a tough decision, isn't it?
Just wanted to hear everyone else's choices. I feel fortunate to have such a diverse group of fellow orchid lovers and appreciate all your comments. Thanks for the imput and feel free to keep them coming! kiki-do

You are a tough task master! Only 2? I'd have to say my avitar Gastrochilas somai and probably the one that has kept me going the longest Dendrobium anosmum. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it I can change this later, right?
