Couple more updates. The hotel we were at, as do all the others, tie orchids to the trees on their properties. Some do well, some don't. I came across a large dendrobium tied to a palm tree, which had an almost 4 foot cane that had broken off and fallen in the bushes. At the end of the cane, was a flower spike that was almost 2 feet long. I broke off the spike, and broke the cane in two so that it woud fit in the box with the orchids I bought from Lixian.
Once home, I sealed the ends of the cane with wax, and set the broken pieces on some porous tile which I mist every day. Got four keikeis that I still haven't potted. The root system is so good, that when I do repot, I think I'll just put them in a terracotta pot, with no medium.
As for the seedlings that self germinated in one of the orchids, they turned out to be Den. crumenatum, and are in 2 inch net pots, doing fine. Enjoy the pictures.
