I know that these plants can develop firm smooth pseudobulbs the size of a baseball.

However, mounted on tree bark, which my plants are and they are watered twice a day in a hot humid climate, I do not believe it is possible to achieve these massive bulbs. In fact, my pseudobulbs while healthy shrivel a bit around flowering.

So, I am looking for feedback as to the growing techniques of others, including medium, watering and feeding routines.

Mine is growing happily in a basket with charcoal and treefern chunks. The bulbs achieve good size. I'm in a hot humid climate also; we do get daily or almost daily rains in the wet season (roughly first of June to mid October).
I have a topcoat feeding I apply once in the spring and maybe once again late summer; spring through fall I spray once every 2-4 weeks with a complete mix that contains kelp. I usually don't water in the wet season; until mid to late March once a week, when the temps start warming and things start growing (around that time) it's upped to twice a week until the rains start.

Treefern I can't find here, but there are a variety of coconut husk mediums which should fit the bill nicely. I prefer aliflor to charcoal, simply because of ascetics.

Our climates are similar. SE Asia is in growing zone 12b, as there is no chance of temps ever falling below about 63°. Typical night time lows are around 74°.
