"Friedrich von Hayek" is apparently the long form of the name.

More interesting naming convention he mentioned: His dark/black Paph hybrids are named "Odette" from The Black Swan. And his alba hybrids are named "Egret" for the bird.

So any "Fred", "Odette" and "Egret" Paph hybrids we come across is by him.
Did you ask him about the "left overs"???

I just got Odette's Vision recently too!!! Mine's not in spike or bud but at least one new growth. Got it off ebay...come to think of it, think it was from theorchidgallery. How's yours?

'Pink Fred' still has two blooms & my new 'President Fred' is opening, probably another day or two before it's fully open. A big flower and the color seems promising. Can't wait to share.
