Looking for Spanish Speaking experts!!
Hi,
We are so inspired by this forum, and the help we all get from it that we decided to create a similar Orchid Care forum in Spanish, for all those orchid lovers that don't speak English. We'd love if you can help us out in getting the forum going!!
You'll fin the forum here: Cuidados Orquídeas | Foro | Cuidados Orquídeas
We, and all our 53,000+ Facebook Spanish speaking fans, will be ever so grateful.
Best regards,

i am used to it as i am been around in mexico for 11 years , being said that, the expression is not offensive in Mexico and has a strong sense of Mexican nationalism , it is widely used here and pretty common! ,
fotofashion, your point is valid , as it can be offensive for the rest of the spanish speaking countries that are not used to such expressions.
as a courtesy and forum etiquette i believe some words like the one used should be avoided.
same applies to the widely used "F" word.
i do hope my comments are taken as constructive by my good fellow mexican citizens in OB!
Cheers!
Antonio.

It is widely used by MEN with each other. It is considered offensive if a woman uses it. The dictionary (Porrua) defines it as "a man who consents to the adultery of his wife." And thank you for your reply.

you are right Beverly, however woman and men alike (within mexico) uses the full expression including the bad word itself. you might find plenty of references and examples , and it is actually used ALOT when sports games like Soccer is followed (quite popular here) as its meaning does not reflect the exact meaning found on the dictionary . spanish as you might know is VERY COMPLEX to say the least.
for instance, "Bicho" is a word that is commonly used by many countries to name an insect. however the word Bicho in Puerto Rico, is actually a very offensive word. (IIRC) so it is ok to use it within venezuela, colombia, peru, chile etc, but not ok if someone from puerto rico is watching (cultural sensitive) /.
i am not saying that the word used by two mexican OB members is OK, on the contrary, it might be OK within the expression in Mexico, but not OK for international forums.
Cheers!
Antonio.
