Will orchids be okay to outside now? I think Monday is or hopefully is the last day we get a bad cold snap. Its a high of 55. All the golden oldies tell me if the mesquites are in bloom no more horrid cold....heres praying...Then back up into 70's-90's. I have catasetum, mormode, cattleya, stanhope, dendrobium, bulbophyllum, b. Lady of the night, hot or warm growing cymbidium (alliofolium(sp), little black sambo).

Also 4 hibiscus, 1 gardenia and 1 african lavender plant.

Thanks

Kg.

You know I grow my orchids outside all year long in our South Florida climate and that I believe orchids are far happier outside in a comfortable climate. However, if there is any chance more cold will come your way and you won't be able to get your chids inside, I wouldn't risk it. Your plants are used to being pampered in your greenhouse. I'd say get them out when you can, but don't take any big risks with uncertain weather....just my $.02.

How did it go, kindrag? In Clovis here we had snow on the 14th. I lost a big sansevaria I forgot to bring in. Due to that, I will wait a while longer. My cymbidiums survived the same temp that killed the sansevaria, by the way.
