looks like spring is coming this way. at least according to my orchids.
Come to work and water my plants today and see some of them are growing like weeds.

My SVO orchids FREDCLARKEA after dark. And mormode (Jumbo bacia 'svo' AM/AOS X MORM. Virgin del valIe 'red and burgundy') I have had since january and my after dark has 5 growths and my mormode
Has already sprouted. Geez turn your back and they frow like weeds.

Ooo, so you have the seedling After Dark and snagged a clone? I just noticed the seedling After Dark I purchased recently is putting out a new growth but still not watering yet...so hard to resist!
The mormode sounds like it will be stunning...such nice parents.

Yeah I actually have 2 after darks. 1 is black the other the one I just got. I was afraid my black after dark would die. But it has now decided to put out a growth. I honestly cant wait for all of them to grow grow grow. All of them are putting out happy sap as well. So they are definitely happy campers.

As Fred Clarke says, wait....waaaiiittt, waaaaaaaaaiiiittttt. Don't water the catasetums until they have grown a good set of roots. Yours look just right. After Dark is one of my faves.

I heard a nasty rumor that spring was on its way, too. Mother nature didn't get the word because we are expecting 3-6 inches tonight and tomorrow.
I don't live in Michigan anymore, I live in the DC suburbs of MD.
