Phalaenopsis temperature study thread?

I read a thread on here that showed a study about temperatures and Phalaenopsis blooming and I didn't bookmark it and now I can't find it.

Anyone know what I'm talking about and able to help please?

Seems to be working, I noticed that two of the Phals I have on a windowsill which sits in the low 60s were spiking, and the identical ones that were upstairs not on a sill were not. So I moved them all to the sill, hopefully that will encourage them.

I would agree with the cooler temperature strategy. When it finally started to get cooler, here in Alabama, I put all my phals out on the covered porch, with CFL lights. I set the timers to come on at night, when the temps were going as low as 40 degrees. I also covered everything in transparent plastic sheets. The small amounts of heat generated by the cfl bulbs, and the fact that the racks were up against my home, kept the temperatures from dropping too much. The day time temps were between 60 - and 70s.

Once the temperatures dropped further, I brought them in and put them under my high output florescent lighting in the basement. So far, 11 phals have spiked, 7 of them have double spikes.

I also gave them some orchid love feedings (fish & kelp emulsion).
