Hurray it is finally here. After being mailed one week ago and stuck who knows where it is here....and I have poked myself in the eye several times while cleaning it and yes ouch.

It is from seattle orchids and I think they MAYBE have 1 or 2 left.

seattle orchids. They are still in stock I am very happy with it. It has around 6 new growths coming out. right now. The tips are very ugh pokey and caught my face several times while I was cleaning it all off and doing a health check.

So if interested be ware.

It is warm growing and must have a winter rest. I am just not sure when that is supposed to start for this one or how to figure that out... but I got a learning curve right? I am in the process of emailing them to see if they will give me some growing tips for it. Will let you know when I hear something back.

BTW, the only winter rest I would imagine for any Cymbidium is less watering, and maybe less fertilizer, but definitely nothing like for Dendrobiums. I may be wrong, but have never read or heard about deciduous Cymbidium:-) So that might be the rest - less water and fertilizer:-) I am watering my Cymbidiums now every 7-8 days instead of every 3-4 as in summer time:-)

No it says on the website this is one of the rare ones that have to have a FULL WINTER DROUGHT. To ignite blooming.

I got all excited about Seattle orchids ( I've been looking for a cymbidium) and they don't ship to Canada so sad.

That's a really nice looking plant Kindra! I'm happy it arrived safe and sound. Seattle Orchids does package their plants nicely, my vanda was fine even though the postal person left it outside when it was is the low 20s outside.

I am sorry, this really stinks. If it is any consolation ebay had some amazing catasetum but they were in the Netherlands and would not ship to the US.
