Default den/phal hybrid going into sleep mode

I think I may have a hybrid that goes to sleep. About 1-2 weeks ago the leaves on the mother cane start3d dropping. Then the new canes leaves started yellowing. Not sure what is up w them.

Ps the scarring and wrinkling are pre me.

How are the roots?
Has it gotten too cold, perhaps?

My bigibbum is losing leaves on some old growths only now, but is also growing.

Is the air from the heat source blowing on it?

How far away is it? The temp may not be an issue as much as the dryness of the air blowing on it ...

That said, I only have a couple of Den-phals - one species, one hybrid - so I am most definitely not an expert on them! I've only gotten a lot of leaf drop once, on the hybrid, after getting too cold ...

Well it has been inside since I received it. As well as abavove by 4-5 feet a humidifier going full tilt to combat the dryness by the propane.

It might be too dry. I see the cane is way too wrinkly. That happens to mine when no watered for weeks on end ( even with daily misting on the top roots). You want to give them good watering.

The leaves on this plant should last for years before dropping. Something is not right.

Did it yellow and drop or was there any spots on the leaves that fell off??

Usually leaves fall off when the plant is stressed over cold, draft, severe underwatering (leaves will wrinkle in this case), bugs, disease, aging (after years of staying green).

What is the plant on the right? It also appears to be a dendrobium?? but plump and healthy looking.

just curious.

Thats the new growth its leaves are yellowing somewhat as well. My humidifier goes 24/7 as well as ossilating fan on low. No bugs, no spots, nothing. The shriveld cane is how it came to me.
