Too much Rain!!!
While its not technically winter yet, I fear that we are simply receiving too much rain for my chids to go into rest. I have seen some of my Catasetinnae leaves changing color, but we are still receiving daily rain and as I type it is raining heavy, and at night no less. I have not had to water my chids for 2 weeks!! My poor Den brymerianum has been struggling to mature even 1 new growth, but they keep damping off especially when there is rain at night. It has sent out a ton of new growth but any moisture left on the leaves is murder for them.

I am with you Kevin, I hate our weather now, there is no sun at my balcony what so ever, and it is raining, and raining, and forecast for next 7 days is guess what, RAIN, i freaking can't wait for this wet season to be over, hard to provide winter rest, and I am constantly moving plants away from railing so at least the ones that can't get any water will stay dry somehow:-(

Tommy, I've not gotten any rain in my neighborhood. Have been watering because the wind is INSANE.

Peewee you are right and lucky, last week and this week till tuesday it was that kamikaze wind, drying totally everything till the very next day, now since wednesday we have crazy rain every single day, and the worst, at night! So it is either 2 hours watering every day due to the crazy wind or saving them from over watering when it rains. We are living in North Miami, right by Bal Harbor bridge.

So sorry Kindra, I should not be complaining, I still have 86 degree days.
@TOMMY I guess all that wind and rain in Florida is the reason for our good surf here in Rincon(I don't surf but 99% of the people I know in town do)

Yep . . . that was what my entire summer was like! Way too much rain for orchids (though the farmers here welcomed the rain after several drought years)

About 4 years ago we had a full on wild fire here because it was so dry. Some idiot threw out a lit cigarette stub burned about 30 miles or more. It burned all the way up to my grandmothers house. The fire trucks actually stayed on our property as central point. In the open field by and behind my house. If the wind switched the flames would light up the sky during no moon...I have never been so scared in my life. My grandmothers great nephew has pasture land next to our property and he and his workers were all out there on tractor tilling up the earth for hours. When you drive down the road you can still see the burn damage on the trees....so I never never never complain about rain because I remember that.
