@TommyMiami I am glad they are going to work with you especially on the dead ones, and ESPECIALLY for the $$$$$ you spent on them. I am sure this seller will work with me as well..I hope, I have never had to send a plant back b4 so this is all slightly new to me and not sure how all this works.

I will keep everyone informed about this plant and all that happens. I think my biggest issue with this beside the price and the obvious rot and badness of the plant is that I have been out bid on this type of plant at least 5x's and I was REALLY REALLY EXCITED that I FINALLY was going to get to have this catasetum... and then yep nope not happening. Thanks for the kind words and listening to my not so nice rant.

Again will keep everyone informed.

Mmm I almost got burned by burned by one of these deals too. All excited that you get that cool plant, and for LESS than that other guy was gonna pay for it. It's one annoying thing about ebay but you HAVE to read every single word or you may not get what you think you are. In the second chance offer it says "Additional Information about Second Chance Offers: The seller, ####, is making this Second Chance Offer because the high bidder was either unable to complete the transaction or the seller has a duplicate item for sale." (my bolds)
Shermantp has done that for me when he has multiple plants of the one listed. How it works is that when the auction ends he can send an offer out to anyone who bid on the plant, and they can buy it for their max bid. I've bought a few plants from him this way, the first time he specifically told me it wasn't the plant from the auction but not on any offers since. But none of the other ebay vendors have even done that for me. With these things it's best to assume your not getting the exact plant from the auction unless otherwise stated.

I also have to say shermantp is a great guy. I've bought tons of plants for him this summer, and besides some bugs everything has been healthy. His greenhouse isn't too far from me so I drove over there a few times to pick up blooming/spiking plants I didn't want to risk shipping. It's always a good time, except he keeps trying to sell me some chickens...

That's a bummer experience for sure! One always expects to open a package and get good stuff!

From what everyone says though, I'm sure the seller will refund you.

Hope he can send you the plant you originally wanted too. Keeping my fingers crossed

catasetums lose their foliage around this time of year. They are desiduous. Scrape out the rot and dab cinnamon on it to help dry it out. Get some dry sand/wood saw dust/ wood chips and keep these dry all winter. New growth will appear in the spring. When the new growth is about 1/2 inch long, pot them up. If you want great info on catasetums go to Sunset Valley Orchids web site. Fred Clark is world famous for catasetums. They are not inexpensive plants at all.

Good. Folks new to their habits think they died. Would you take a pic of millennium and show us what it looks like dormant please. Then if you can, take pics of them this spring when they wake up. It would really be helpful to anyone contemplating getting one in spring. Thanks. Also scraping out the rot and then covering it with cinnamon works great. I do it on catts and laelias.

The return policy is I have to pay for it. But since it is so tiny into a flat rate shipping box it goes!
