Default Update to my flasking insanity

Okay so today makes day 3 with my baby flasklings they all seem to be happy and healthy, even my baby calmonara wildcat is doing seemingly well. I am thinking of placing that in more hydroton rather than moss with a little hydroton.

my chids are in the betta bowl with live sphag in the bottom with the light on for closer to 12 hours a day now with no light the rest of the time.

Big question is they are potted in the orchid moss like the instructions said with a little bit of hydroton in there to help with the air flow. This is day 3 and they still seem rather on the damp side is this okay? Or should i remove them from the betta bowl and allow them to dry a little bit more.

We got quite a bit of rain the last few days and it is nice and cool this morning with some bright sun. Would it do well to leave them in the bowl and just continue as they are? Or move them outside to dry a little bit? I really don't want these guys to rot!!

THANKS!!

I went ahead and took out a bit of the extra sphagnum and just placed it in a 3in net pot. that way they keep the needed humidity but the pots don't stay wet 24/7. I also am now debating placing them in two in net pots to make sure the roots don't rot...yeah i am a worry wart but I checked on my Wildcats roots were starting to break down a bit, so I put it in hydroton with a mix of moss. on top for to protect the small roots. from drying out to much....

Well my flasking insanity has gotten a LOT worse, I just ordered another set of flasklings off of ebay these are called:Orchid Flask ( Lc. Mari’s Song X Lc. Hawaiian Discovery)

Also I am seriously fighting the need to check their roots everyday. Whew I am sitting on my hands trying to keep from checking them every few hours... lol.

Pretty well. They had a rough start when i tried to keep them in the house. Finally I brought them out to the greenhouse in hopes that the extra light and humidity would help and it did.

My advice would be to keep them super humid for about a week. Slowly lowering the humidity then treat them like a regular orchid that just needs extra tlc.

Oh and if you don't have physan 20 get some. seedlings get root rot very easy and the physan 20 really helps keep that at bay untill they become more stable

Mine are in a betta bowl with a 3 inch net pot full of live sphagnum; they are in orchid moss with hydroton in the bottom. I also keep the lights on it at least 12 hours a day so that helps with the little bit of light and helps with the higher humidity as well, I am noticing.
I checked the small roots on one and its roots are looking wonderful. I have so many of these tiny little things that they will most likely be going to new homes in about a month, with me keeping 2 pots of them.
