Apparently my phals two of them- in spike/bud fell to the floor while I was out, one of them both spikes broke , my heart sunk and I cried- and the second one doesnt seem to have any damage except one flower seems to have broken off a sepal...what can I do to reduce stress for these babies and is there any luck they will continue blooming- I'd appreciate any advice/help
thanks.
The "thump" on the floor will do little, if anything, to the blooming. On the other hand, if the spikes that broke "crimped" at the bend point, they will likely abort most of the blossoms, as the flow of liquid to the buds will be diminished.
For the spike that only lost the flower, just let it continue on it merry little way.
For the spike that broke, as Ray said the part beyond the break will perish. Cut the spike just below the break and treat with a little cinnamon to seal. If there are any buds below the cut they should continue to open. If not, if there is a node below the cut it MAY send out a second spike from that location.
