I have a Sobralia fragrans that blooms every now and then, but I hardly get to see the flowers. They last only a few hours, they bloom early and by noon its already wilting.

I think in general Sobralia blooms are very short lived, tho a large mature plant may get many blooms, so the plant may be in bloom quite some time. There are some that have blooms that may last a few days, but I can't help with any names, sorry ...

you have 2 groups of Sobralias. The Ephemeral, and the Field groups. The Ephemeral groups flowers only last a day or less whereas the Field groups flowers can last up to 10 days.

The field group contains species like Sobralia macrantha, Sobralia xantholeuca, Sobralia caloglossa.
The Primary hybrids of these ,Sobralia Mirabilis (macrantha×Veitchii) and Sobralia Veitchii (macrantha×
xantholeuca) are included.

Your Fragrans falls into the Ephemeral grouping.

Ive wanted to dabble with these in the yard but the Field groups like the cooler temps. Where as of course the Ephemeral group prefer warm to intermediate temps. I cant grow many cool loving plants in Texas outdoors and you might have the same type of weather in PR Im thinking.

Regardless, if you're growing sobralias, I'm jealous. I simply don't have the room or light. They're beautiful plants even when not in bloom.
