No, no. You NEED an Oncidium Sharry Baby. Everyone that can grow one, should. They're lovely, the smell is intoxicating and even the leaves are interesting to look at. Trust me, you should get one. You will thank me for this later.
i agree...i found mine earlier this yr @ TJs...i was addicted to the smell...

I gave away my sharry babies as they took too much room and replaced them with a onc. Twinkle that smells just the same. They grow very rapidly and can usually be found at OS sales very cheaply. I divided mine yearly and gave them to...anyone.

There must be desperate people in Texas looking for homes for Sharry Baby divisions....

I went to FORT WORTH!! And I would find Noid Phals if lucky, other places said to hot to carry them. Or the places that did carry were beyond nutty about prices.

Is there an orchid society anywhere near where you live? Orchid shows (society table?)?
Sharry babys were once everywhere and really cheap. Have you checked carmelias (I think this is the spelling) in Hawaii? Hausermann's has sold them in the past, too. I know they aren't as common as they once were but they really shouldn't be expensive, not with the way they grow. Good luck!
