I had a weak moment, and bought a Holc. flavescens on ebay ... I've become a bit infatuated with this genus. I had been getting notifications of Holc. listings, hoping to maybe replace my Holc. wangii that got destroyed by some critters a couple of months ago... but came across this species - it's a cutie!
Hope it can do ok for me ... Cold to cool growing, but a couple of posts I came across - here and elsewhere - suggest it can take some heat in summer *fingers crossed* wish me luck!

Trader Joe's is evil. Not only did I pick up wickedly good coconut cookies and fancy salads, I got a Onc. "NoID" Twinkle.

I'm lucky Trader Joe's is all most 30 miles from me so I don't get there often, I only go when I run out of there peanut butter and I love looking at all there orchids if I have the extra cash I'll pick one up.

I have three Trader Joe's within a 5 mile radius.

I just found a 4th TJ in the same radius!
Oops, correction: one is a couple of miles farther but I go to that one since its in the frequent shopping quad (Whole Foods, Target, Home Depot, Trader Joe's)

The couple I usually go to used to almost always have a cool variety, but recently, not much so - I guess that might be a good thing ...

Oh - I know which you mean! Name escaping me, as well ;p
At least here, while summer days are very warm - hot, the nights are cool, and temps in fall-winter are both cool enough, and warm enough (to not kill them) for orchids that like a winter chill

Ferns Daddy- 30 miles is nothing! I would have to drive over 80 miles to the nearest one, and all they have are the same old phals. I used to have to drive 30 miles to and from work almost every day.
I just bought the last Bulbo. echinolabium from First Rays a day or two ago. Also got a dendrobium from Lowes and a blue vanda to pick up at The Plant House.
How about a few pictures everyone! Even if not in bloom. Some of you have mentioned orchids that are totally new to me...
