Our OS is holding an orchid auction on Wednesday… I've told hubby I'm thinking about going. I'm worried I'll get overwhelmed and bid on something I can't grow. Maybe I can ask if they have auction buddies that help newbies. LOL!

Even though my cool growing Masdies haven't rebloomed, hope springs eternal. Also got two Masdies, Maguerita 'Red Star' HCC/AOS and a cross of Macu Pichu x Exquisite. The price was so low on them I couldn't pass them up. Here's a link to what Lc. bloom should look like two years from now Gold Country Orchids

Congrats! When your masdie's grow big enough to divide, we can do some trading if you want :-)

Send me a private message when you think it's time! I'm getting ready to make some divisions soon.

Will do when they get bigger. Also forgot to mention the Zygo I bought at the auction for a friend to further his addiction. It was only $2.

Good luck! At ours, most of the prices were too good to pass up. I wish I had purchased more. It was my first auction and I'll definitely go again. If you get there early, you can look plants over and Google culture and sometimes vendor price on your smart phone/pad (I'm a gadget girl.) or ask the more experienced members. Hope you go and let us know what you got!

I bought 23 orchids this week. Okay, let's pretend it didn't happen and I will hide the new ones among my other orchids so nobody notices...

den hybrid
Got what looked like a den. lindleyi at home depot for $12. the tag says "den. aggregatum 'green elf' x den. aggregatum 'yellow velvet'". now that second one seems right but den aggregatum 'green elf' sounds mislabeled...it will flower this winter so i'll post it if it's any good....
only 1. but we got 2 zombie palms and 2 bay rum trees, a Nashia inaguensis, and a bunch of other unconventional tropical plants this past weekend so....yeah just the 1 orchid
