I have never had to lie to my husband about these things (don't have one) so to keep in practice I lie to my kids about it. They are in their 50s so I am spending their inheritance!! Lol ...Jean

I got this big boy today at a tag sale on my way back home from Lowe's noid Oncidium, they guy said it hasn't bloom for him in years and it was time to get rid of it because it wasn't blooming any more and for $15.00 I grabbed it fast, its in a what looks like a 3 gal pot, some of the tips are turning brown but I think is was from to much sun.plus its dry as a bone.

Come on admit it....what have you bought recently
I get to sneak in plants after just about every HOS meeting thanks to the silent auction. The count was two this month. The third plant I won in the boxtops drawing, no need to sneak that one. I have to leave them in my station wagon over night as it is very late when I arrive. HMMM, now that cooler weather is approaching, what will I do. Oh, I know, they can wait in the shed till morning.

When I come home from an OS meeting, my daughter always asks what I bought. It is very difficult to convince them that the orchid/orchids in the box are ones that I took for the display table...especially if they aren't in bloom. :|

Our OS orchid auction was this Saturday. I went to bid on the C. George King 'Serendipity', a gorgeous floofy. Someone else wanted it too, but I hung in there. It already has buds on it. Hope they don't blast. Also got Lc. Twilight Song v. coerulea. Another member grows that one outside year round...gotta love it. I do well with laelia crosses. Even though my cool growing Masdies haven't rebloomed, hope springs eternal. Also got two Masdies, Maguerita 'Red Star' HCC/AOS and a cross of Macu Pichu x Exquisite. The price was so low on them I couldn't pass them up. Here's a link to what Lc. bloom should look like two years from now Gold Country Orchids
