I recently got a small plaque of Dendrobium lichenastrum. It's currently only pushing out 1 new bulb, but it has about 20 growths and I hope it will push out 4-5 additional bulbs in the next year.

My other recent purchase is Eria globifera. It seems to be blooming size, and it pushing out 5 new growths, with about 17 old ones.

out of my orchid meeting today!! (orchid bug! is there a cure?)

got a big fat division of guarianthe skinneri "casa luna" (with 3 fronts)

and traded an apparently extinct in nature: laelia anceps sub. dawsonii var chilapensis. (long name)!

the laelia plant is in bloom, (first time) but flowers were not fully open , tomorrow i make sure it is posted. (really gorgeous colors! and shape!)

about the skinneri i am debatin if i should pot it or mount it on white cedar wood that i got in my backyard as a left over of a 30mts tall tree that i had to bring down (in pieces) to be able to build my house.

I am afraid to go to the orchid meeting. I can't leave the grocery store without a new mini phal. LOL!

Me too! Our OS has their plant auction this time! I have to take money as I ordered some supplies. I just hope I can resist.

I also worry that I'm so much of a newbie, that people will look at me like I have the plague or something if I show up at an orchid society meeting. I got my first orchid in June. Given my history with plants, I swear that OB is the reason they aren't all dead by now. So I *feel* way more successful at this than I actually am and don't want anyone to rain on my parade. LOL!

We have some people who have 1-4 noid phals who are attending our meetings. Everyone is offering them help, potting supplies, and very happy to have them. I promised some MSU fertilizer. I think everyone is terrified at first...I was. I didn't need to worry, though.
Then again, I suspect our OS is a cult, bent on getting people addicted to orchids....(kidding, but they are a friendly group of folks). Seriously, orchid society meetings are just a social gathering for people who happen to be interested in orchids. There is no minimum number or orchids or years.

I have not bought any new plants recently, they've just sort of, appeared in my flat...

Yesterday, I took a quick detour to my local flower shop. I just wanted to check what was left after this weekend's orchid event, when I spotted this little guy. It jumped straight into my arms, so I had to adopt it. I didn't buy it, but I exchanged an unknown amount of money to be able to adopt it. *choughs*

Today, I picked up an order someone placed in my name with Asendorfer. I ordered... I mean, someone else ordered:

Paph. dayanum
Paph. henryanum
Paph. tigrinum 'Tigerland' x self
Paph. wilhelminiae

I also got two freebies:

Paph. schoseri (already have one of these, but I don't mind another one).
Paph. venustum (also have one of these, but I think this one might be an alba or semi-alba, since there are no maroon spots on the undersides of the leaves).

Paph. dayanum, beautiful little plant:

Paph. henryanum (I have a henry!):

Paph. tigrinum 'Tigerland' x self (a.k.a. my precioussss):

Paph. wilhelminiae (don't like those blemishes):

My freebies, schoseri and venustum:

Nice find from the flower shop! Love the color! I'll bet that orchid just begged for you to take it home!
Looks like 'someone' knows just what you like!
