Strange Paph new growth behavior

I actually now think I have a very short runner on one of mine. It doesn't go far and I thought it was just an extra long rhyzome because the plant is quite crowded and I thought it was just pushing out to find some space... but it looks quite like that.

some paphs do have a long rhizome , clear example of that behavior is P. micranthum , there are a few that does this, if an hybrid, it might go back and forth as for the way it drops new fans? just a guess.
