Default Blc Goldenzelle Flower Size

For those of you that grow any of the Blc Goldenzelle's like Lemon Chiffon or Passion or Prelude ect. what size are the flowers?

My Blc Goldenzelle 'Promised Land' has two rather small flowers on it. I haven't measured them but I'd say they might be 4 inches across.

The flowers are beautful with great form. I'm just astounded at the smaller size flowers. (even though I've heard they were a bit smaller than some other catts)

Just wondered what your opinion might be.

Hi Debs
A friend of mine recently got a Lemon Chiffon and I'd say the blooms were 4-5 inches across.

There have been 26 awards given to that hybrid, and altogether they averaged 5.5" natural spread.

'Lemon Chiffon' garnered two AM's - the first with 5.25" spread, the second at 5.6".

The smallest ever awarded was "Honey Butter' at 4.5", the largest 'Sunset Bay' at 6.8".

Besides genetics, flower size is most often attributable to nutrition, but stuff like temperature, light levels, and humidity can affect bud development, as well.

I measured 'Promised Land' and it measures exactly 4 inches...either direction.

So far there is no fragrance but I'm hoping that changes.

Thanks Ray for the information. The Goldenzelles have always fascinated me for some reason.
