What i found on NYC water, not sure what it means >.<

P.S. Jayfar beat me to it haha! so that means i should leave it overnight before watering my orchids or could i sometimes cheat when im in a rush and water straight once a while, would it harm them with the type of water i have?

That jpeg is too small to read, but I found the 2012 NYC Water Quality Report for you. It doesn't mention chloramine, so maybe they do use only chlorine, rather than chloramine (chlorine + ammonia).

Also found this study that was done for NYC DEP, which concluded that NYC would be able to meet EPA standards without switching over to chloramine:

The Philly report doesn't mention chloramine either, but in our case, a careful reading indicates Philly adds ammonia, as well as sodium hypochlorite - tada! Chloramine results from that combo.

On the other hand, there seems to be an open debate as to whether chloramine at such a low level, which is typically only 2 or 3 ppm (I believe the EPA standard specifies should be <4 ppm), really matters at all to our plants. Doesn't seem to be a lot of known science one way or the other. Here's an old thread that I bumped up yesterday:
