Default Are you an orchid hoarder?

(Wasn't sure where to post, move it if need be.)

An older thread on another forum gave me this idea. See the second page of this thread for some crazy pictures: Orchid Hoarders!- Page 2

So are any of you orchid hoarders? Running out of space under your lights, greenhouse, or windowsill? Show off pictures of your growing area here, even if you're not quite a hoarder?

Here, I'll start...

Orchids

Vegetables

LOL - I haven't any space for my vegetables this year........all orchids now.
All except genuine peppadew seeds I got from a grower in Zimbabwe - those are better than gold !

Aww, the poor kitty in the last photo doesn't have anywhere to sit, because even the SOFA was covered with orchids. Wow. I can't imagine how long it takes to water all those. This person definitely needs a greenhouse

OMG I thought I was bad! I'm taking this as a cautionary tale! I've run out of room but thankfully still have a place to sit, no more orchids until I move somewhere bigger!

I am totally an orchid hoarder. I started to run out of room under my lights in the basement, so I bought a terrerium which is now in my family room. Not sure what I will do after I fill that, but I am thinking of putting a big bay window in one of my cooler rooms so I can grow some cool growing species. I keep having to remind myself that I am too busy to get any really high maintenance plants. I probably should not consider remodelling my house until my kids get older.

That pic of the sofa filled with orchids brings to mind the words of a speaker at the SEPOS Show. I think it was Glen Decker of Piping Rock who said having enough space is simply a matter of priorities: "At some point you'll realize you don't really need that sofa in the living room."

O....M....G....I will never let myself go there. Especially because my cat is an orchid eater.

It has to fit in the shadehouse. If not, I have to find it a home. Now, I might build a bigger shadehouse....

Default Are you and orchid hoarder?

Six plants arrived today, two more either tomorrow or Friday. I'm contemplating either enlarging my GH or convincing DH to tear this one down and build another larger one. I have 250 + plants not and see no lessening of my hoarding in the near future. HELP

LOL...

David Bird (Bird's Botanicals) made a joke to the St Louis Orchid Society as follows:

If you have 20 orchids, you're addicted. If you have 50 orchids, you're obsessed. If you have 250 or more, we call that a business!!!

ROFL!!!

Mine are spread out all over the place. All windowsills have orchids, as well as some smaller plants hanging from curtain rods. Lined up and spread around small porch and area in front of the porch, and all over the small patio in back. A couple of small tables in the back full with small plants, and my gas grill is a plant stand ...
