Here are two pictures of the current bud that is dying. You can also see the remains of the last bud which also died. I don't think the plant has been shocked by being move. I brought it to work 6 months ago after repotting and the only time it moves is to move it at the water fountain. I also water with RO water with half strength Schultz Orchid food.

Darn, from the pics there doesn't seem to be an obvious problem. Personally, I would repot it in high quality, long fiber spagnum, but do so in a plastic basket. That way it will retain more moisture, but also have more air movement around the roots. Any spikes that come out low and horizontal will also poke out a hole and won't rot in the pot.

Paul's idea of rot is probably a good one too. I think hitting it with some physan won't hurt and you will also want to get some KLN treatment (or other root stimulant) to get a good root system going.

Finally, just how cold does it get at night where it grows? For that matter, how warm does it get during the day? These guys really do prefer fairly warm temperatures.

During the day they keep it warm 72-75F and then it drops to ~68 in the evening. Much warmer than the 65 I keep my house which the other half of the repotting of this plant lives in. The plant at home hasn't had this problem either. Except for possibly the light I think work is a better environment for the orchid; warmer during day, change at night, more humid.
