I just had a very good idea! I use Windows and am assuming you do as I am not much good with Mac advise. If you use Windows, just right click on the desired photo. A list will come up and choose 'Send to' Then from that list choose 'Mail recipient'. a little box will open for attaching the photo with size choices. Choose small and send an e-mail to yourself with it as an attachment. Once you receive your own e-mail, copy and past or drag the photo to your desktop and you should have a new smaller version of the original.

Damn silken - you are good - will give that a try, but just drug out all my mounting supplies and I really need to relax into some orchids. I will try this later or tomorrow - or the next time I throw up my hands my computer and camera will be in them - and my hands will come down empty I am afraid!!
Thanks again - very high quality people here!!

I had the same problem with my cell phone camera and had to download at a much lower resolution.
Then I remembered that I could download a photo taken with the cell held horizontally - cos I did one earlier. Hey presto - it worked. Those I had taken with the cell held vertically didn't work at higher resolution.
Now I know this has nothing to do with a camera, but heck, try holding the camera at a different angle
( just kidding, I know it won't work ! )
The mod definitely needs to tell us if there has been a change...

Just stop uploading to the forum. Use a separate image hosting site like Photobucket or imageshack. Much easier and you don't have to ruin the quality of your pictures.

You can also use the Paint program to resize, that's what I did when I used to put photos that way.
Now I do like Josh and post directly from a photo manager website (Flickr). The only issue is that if the site disappears or changes (like with my old Webshots account- which no longer exists) then all the links in OB disappear. By uploading directly from the PC the pics are stored on the OB servers.

I will agree that it sucks that it can disappear but I have a backup of all my shots so not really a biggy. You have to be careful not to move folders either as itll break the link as well.
Overall, I find its much easier than resizing, resizing and more resizing then you find out its still too big. lol

I still just upload to the OB server with an attachment. But I just re-size and keep a small copy, while still keeping the large good quality one. The instructions on the upload window say what size is acceptable and I just re-size once to that and they have always worked.

Yea, you can do it that way but its just annoying to me. Plus, if you want to show it on other sites you have to upload it to there as well where photobucket works with one link anywhere.

Hey everyone -
Did anyone else have all the avatars disappear overnight? Got up this morning, turned on the Board and I can't find any avatars?
Board trouble?

It's been discussed in the 'server move' thread, apparently the avatars have compatibilty issues with the updates
