Plants to grow with orchids?

I grow African violets with my phals. They're even in semi-hydro just like the phals. Alocasias and colocasias should also do well with orchid growing conditions as should gesneriads like columneas and petrocosmeas. The small taro bulbs from the grocery markets love semi-hydro and they are super cheap. Next, I want to try growing caladiums and streptocarpus indoors under lights in semi-hydro.

I highly recommend the smaller nepenthes species and/or hybrids, Lycopodiums, Microgramma, Epiphyllums, and, if your conditions are hot enough, ant plants.
