Hey everyone!
Hope you don't mind, but I am posting this in here and the Beginners Disc.area due to questions I have seen in both areas concerning this recently-
I know there is a sticky about intergeneric abbreviations, but I hope this helps someone that maybe isn't reading the sticky's.
If you have questions about orchid abbreviations, you may want to add Firstray's website to your fav's:
First Rays' Free Info
Under their Free Info - Nomenclature area, you can download the orchid genera names and abbreviations. Their website offers a lot of freebies like culture sheets, etc.
I also use the Royal Horticultural Society website
http://www.rhs.org.uk/Plants/Plant-s...s/orchidabbrev
- it gives the same info, not only by genera name-to-abbreviation but by abbreviation-to-genera name which is handy! There also is a lot of helpful info available on the RHS site.
I find both RHS and Firstray's very handy for a lot things!
