What concentration of indole-butyric acid to use?!?
does anyone know what the optimal Parts per million is for indole butyric acid to stimulate root growth in phalaenopsis?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

So are you saying that you are familiar with typical products and techniques for use of IBA but that you want information specific to phalaenopsis?

If you use K-L-N (IBA + NAA) at the often-recommended 1-2 drops per gallon, you're ending up with about 50 ppb hormones.

Wow, that is a miniscule amount compared to other methods and products. Clonex Rooting Gel that I have used is 3000 ppm IBA. Here are some other recommendations, albeit not for orchids, that are in the ranges of hundreds to thousand of ppm of IBA.

yes that is exactly what i am saying i have some indole-butyric acid of 90% purity and am familiar with its use on a variety of plants but i cant seem to find any information on the working concentration for phalaenopsis i have found some info regarding in vitro use but when used in vivo higher concentrations are generally used...

if it helps any the reason i want to know is because i just purchased a phal from a local flower shop and when i brought it home i decided to repot it because it was in pure sphag and was packed really tight and when i took it out all of the roots were completely rotten except for three aerial roots and im hoping i can save it currently i have it in a mix of sand and this long moss of some sort i found in the forest. i rinsed it really well first and just set the orchid on top after cutting off the rotten roots. i put it on top and didnt bury it because i didnt want to put the aerial roots in ghe medium..
p.s. i have a clear plastic bag around its container to keep the humidity up and it getting light from a full spectrum CFL

I have no idea what concentration IBA to use for a phal. I have saved phals like that just by repotting into bark without any IBA.
Your problem is going to be in making the IBA solution, it is not very soluble in water. You have to convert it into the potassium salt to get much solubility.

For what it's worth, I have seen some amazing root tip growth when using KelpMax at 1 tablespoon per gallon, and that ends up being around 50 ppb also.
