Fertilizer shelf life

plants in nature are crapped on and exposed to the elements. I doubt that any fertiliser for orchids, no matter how old, would damage orchids especially if used weakly weekly. Additionally, not being a chemist, I don't know if chemicals deactivate with age - but presumably you would soon tell if that was the case. The plant wouldn't grow well.

Having burned some orchids before, with water soluble fertilizer that has broken down, I'd personally say it it has changed consistency, don't use it on your orchids.

I keep mine inside the house, tight seal, and away from light. We ALWAYS have the a/c on...

And LavendarSunset, I might also add that it would be nice if they would also put an expiration date on chemicals.
