Default Blooming time is changing by climate?

I am a beginner in growing species, but I have some questions for more experience growers.

So, I have in my collection 2 Laelia purpurata. In the first 2 years I had no flowers. This year, in May, they both have bloomed nicely.

As I foud out, in their native country, Brazil, they bloom six months later, in November (spring time there).

Is that a kind of adaptation on the climate? What do you think about that?

Many thanks!

PS: I forgot to say, in Romania May is spring and pretty warm.
