Phals as always, with a side of random things as projects/etc... On the Phals side, I'm trending to actually blooming some of the seedlings I continue to buy...

Ascocendas and mini-catts or compact cattleyas. Mostly because both bloom more often than other orchids but also because of the bright colors that I like.

Cym dayanum and Cym ensifolium are kinda smallish, that's why I didn't bring them up. They only get to be about 1' to 1 1/2' tall.

Maria wanted suggestions for giants. Cym madidum can easily get to be 2' - 3' tall.

While I may not have hit it on the nose with Cym tracyanum, it is definitely a very large Cymbidium species. These can easily reach 3' tall.

I have a collection of madidums and one has leaves no longer than 12" with bulbs the size of a bantam chicken egg. Two of the others have bulbs at least twice the size of an average tracyanum with leaves to match!
It is interesting that there appears to be more variety in the size of madidums than in most other Cym species.
