Basically Jim, just use your common sense in transport.
1) You do not want it to slide or tip over so place it in a larger box that will not slip/tip on the seat or car deck surface. Use the seat belt if necessary.
or brace the box with bricks or other boxes.
2) Do not let the flower/flower stake bounce around to hit anything. Cross tie on a temporary, extra stake or use cotton.
3) If you are driving during the day, be sure the sun from the window does not hit the plant.
4) Do not let the air conditioner blow directly on the plant either.
As far as cleaning and staking, this was answered on the Beginner Forum where the same question was asked. I would only add to NOT ALLOW the stake to go above the top flower of the stem, and preferably lower.
