There are many members of a CP forum I am a member at that swear by monthly treatments of Trich and any new divisions get a good soaking in a Trich bath. The species used is Trichoderma atroviride.

Thanks!!!

This guy sells to "THC Farmers" but they can be used for other types of plants... I just emailed him to see what species he uses in his root packs.

Came across this article describing the experience of using TRICHODERMA harzianum (Tri002/3) on Cephalotus.

I will say... For the people wanting to beneficials but dont want to order it on line or go to a hydro shop can try Kangaroots from fox farms.... A lot of garden centers carry fox farms and there product does work. Matter of a fact, I have mushrooms growing in a few pots I used it on. Powdered form will get you a better bang for your buck. People may find it easier to use a liquid rather than a dry powder. I recommend applying it on a non fertilizer day.

For the people that use fir bark will find that mushrooms may grow....not to worry, fungi uses wood as a host. It also break it down and act like slow release fertilizer. I have had a Den in fir bark for 10 yrs. after I started to use bennies the plant came back to life and this was the best show it has put on.

Keith, I had a look at Subculture B and it looks as if this product is significantly cheaper than the product I bought in the UK (about 1 : 10 when comparing doses). I had a look on the label and it says that it contains sugar, besides the fungi and bacteria. Has this caused you any problems with algae and black mould on the substrate?

I am in the US in 2 weeks and am tempted to order a bag of that stuff and bring it home. The other question I have is: how do you store it. The stuff I bought is supposed to be stored in the fridge.

The sugar feeds the bacteria. I add molasses also. But to answer your ?, I have seen no black mold but I have seen a small amount of white mold on dead roots. I welcome it because that is food for the plant and gets rid of places that bad fungi can hide. It is harmless to the plant. I have algae also but no worst then before I started.

I store it on my work table.

Also, I do teas to increase the populations.
