Mold in my flask! Male
Default Mold in my flask!

I bought some flasks at the annual orchid show in my area. I rarely look at them as they were gradually growing and otherwise not changing much. I looked at them just now, and one of the two has mold growing on the media, and has surrounded two plants that look pretty happy.

What do I do? Do I open it, and remove the mold, or do I leave it be?
Thank you in advance for your responses.

Are they large enough to deflask? if so I say remove them. If they are not, you could try to remove them clean them up and replate them.

Agreed with Tsuchibuta. If they are at all large enough to pot up, that's the best means. The mold will suck the life/nutrients out of the plants if they aren't taken out. If you can flask, you can try and remove the plants, disinfect them, and replate them. But, not all of us are flaskers. So, hopefully they are close to potting up age so you can salvage them.
